MANIFEST MANAGEMENT
Even in an engine-only environment, accurate and timely manifesting is essential. Just as the carton processing either piggy-backs on the inbound data processing or is triggered by another communications feed from a physical processing device, manifesting in ScanData’s engine-only environment can be triggered via a communications feed, automated through a schedule, or manually kicked off via a browser-based manifesting interface. Further, ScanData’s browser-based Shipping Administrator provides shipping supervisors with the data necessary to make decisions regarding how and when manifests need to be cut (if triggering them manually) or provides views into what manifests were cut and when.
MANAGEMENT
To execute a manifest manually, shipping supervisors use ScanData’s browser-based Manifest Reports Manager. Once all order processing for a given trailer load is complete, this application is used to close the manifest for that load, which can automatically trigger printing of all necessary documents for interstate transportation including all parcel carrier/ ship method transportation documents as well as common carrier transportation documents. After a manifest has been closed (or before in some configurations), shipping supervisors have the option of using ScanData’s Manifest Audit Manager, which verifies the accuracy of the manifest and sortation applications. Through this application, shippers systematically review shippable units to verify that the actual information matches with the information recorded during the carton processing and manifesting processes. If a discrepancy is detected, appropriate discrepancy data is recorded for generation of discrepancy reports. ADMINISTRATION
Deployed as either a desktop or browser-based
application, Shipping Administrator provides views into data concerning current
and historical activity for supervisors' use for organizational and supervisory
functions. Using predetermined views created by ScanData or configurable views
RETAIL COMPLIANCE ScanData will work with you, your carriers, and your retail customers to ensure that all necessary Advanced Ship Notice (ASN) requirements are met. Normally, when ASNs are used, each carton being shipped has a label with a unique bar-code. The ASN references each carton by its bar-code and provides its exact contents. It also provides such information as the ultimate destination of the carton, the weight, what purchase order it is fulfilling, and tracking numbers. ScanData has installed systems supporting ASN compliance for the following retailers:
ScanData's ESAMS solution is also compatible with the interindustry standards developed by the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards Association (VICS), specifically the VICS master and straight Bills of Lading (BOL). VICS is made up of companies who have proven that a timely and accurate flow of product and information between trading partners significantly improves their competitive position. It has been demonstrated that cross-industry commerce standards facilitate better customer service while reducing costs. VICS' participation with hundreds of small and large companies has established that the implementation of VICS' business processes and standards achieve excellent returns that go far beyond initial expectations.
