SCANDATA HONORED WITH ENT MAGAZINE AWARD
The ENT Readers Choice Award is a prestigious honor that recognizes best-of-breed third-party products in the Windows NT Marketplace. It is also the only Windows NT award program in existence. Over 50,000 people from all over the world received ballots to vote for products in categories involving software and hardware vendors. Readers then cast their ballots for those companies they believe make the most significant contributions to the Windows NT market. The winners of the ENT Readers Choice Awards were announced at the Windows Solutions Conference and Exposition in San Francisco on August 27th. The emcee of the evening's activities was Mark Durrick, publisher for ENT. John Dalton, president of ScanData, was present at the ceremony to accept the award in the manufacturing software category. "This was an important award for us because it was recognition by the readers," said Dalton. "As a systems integrator, we have a small base of customers with a high degree of public exposure because [the customers] are large companies. It reflects a level of sophistication that the readers recognize our accomplishments. Their decision was not based on the number of software or hardware packages shipped, but by the products we develop. "I thank those readers. I am grateful to all the customers and employees who have worked hard together to make this, and other recent awards, possible." Distribution Fulfillment Services, Inc. (DFS) software solution was a finalist in the Windows World Open which recognizes excellence in Windows software development. The Software, Distribution Control System (DCS), was developed by ScanData. Windows World was part of COMDEX/ Spring held June 3-6 at McCormick Place in Chicago which had over 1,100 exhibitors, nearly 100,000 attendees, and over 3,500 new products on display.
