ScanData Systems Joins Microsoft's Value Chain Initiative 

Microsoft's Value Chain Initiative is a team of industry leaders who will focus on the implementation and integration of enterprise-wide computing solutions based on Microsoft's latest technology.

ScanData Systems, a leading software developer and integrator of Windows NT solutions announced an alliance with Microsoft and their Value Chain Initiative (VCI). The focus for VCI Solution Providers will be to take advantage of Microsoft's latest tool sets in developing and integrating systems to enhance today's manufacturing/ distribution supply chain. ScanData's Distribution Control System (DCS) uses Microsoft BackOffice as the backbone of their network, utilizing Transaction Server for host to central Windows NT Server data exchanges. Replication from the site Windows NT Servers to the central server will provide up-to-the-last transaction recovery or remote views. Web/ Internet servers and Microsoft SQL Server 6.5 are utilized to post views of inventory, order status, pricing, and other pertinent information to clients and the world via the Internet. This enterprise wide data stream will offer manufacturers and distributors a way to manage their inventory, transportation, and logistics resources more effectively. Information will be provided outside the enterprise via World Wide Web pages.

ScanData's DCS will interact with the entire supply chain providing a robust SQL database. Users anywhere in the world will have RAS view of information via simple SQL queries. "We are all working towards the goal of 'information at your fingertips' informational views that were never available before.
