MANUAL PROCESSING

To allow for manual processing, ScanData deploys its Manual Induction application (available as either a robust desktop application or a pared-down browser application), which allows shippable units to be manually introduced into the shipping process. With this application, operators manually verify the weight and/ or cube and, if necessary, adjust to account for discrepancies. Manual Induction also allows shippers to assign or re-assign carrier/ ship methods to packages and verify the carton information. When used in conjunction with Automated Induction and a conveyor system, Manual Induction may be used for exceptions and jackpot processes. 


MANUAL INDUCTION

Because every installation requires slightly different operational processes, ScanData’s Manual Induction can be configured to support multiple processing modes. These modes include one-step and two-step processing. During one-step processing, cartons are opened, fully processed, and closed without any operator intervention. During two step processing, cartons are opened and then verified and closed by the operator. 

ScanData’s Manual Induction supports hundreds of mode configuration settings including:

COMMON CONFIGURATIONS

Exception Processing - Allows operators to process cartons that have not been successfully processed through the regular manner by updating carton attributes. Manual Sortation - Allows operators to assign a queue of open pallets to the processing station and have the application direct manual sortation upon carton processing.
Non-Conveyable Processing - Allows operators to process cartons that are not able to be processed by automated means and that may not be able to be placed on a regular scale. Ad-Hoc - Allows operators to create cartons for the  shipping in the system without requiring host-provided package level detail (PLD).
