TRAFFIC SOLUTIONS

With Shipment Confirmation Billing Manager, Zbox, and SDS Rate Server, ScanData steps outside the box of traditional PTMS functionality and moves into the world of Decision Support Systems (DSS) for carrier negotiations and reconciliation. Though ScanData’s PTMS applications allow its customers to confidently ship cartons all over the world, ScanData recognizes that a significant part of shipping in an efficient and cost-effective manner is properly allocating ship methods across batches of shipments as well as reconciling carrier billing statements. With ScanData's new traffic management solutions, traffic departments can now do more than just manage rate tables and select best methods. They can instead form shipment solutions and then reconcile actual shipments against those solutions.

SHIPMENT CONFIRMATION RECONCILIATION MANAGER

Deployed as a Windows Service or as a Web Service, Shipment Confirmation Reconciliation Manager accepts carrier reconciliation data and marries it with manifesting data to allow traffic departments to audit their carrier billing. Working in conjunction with ScanData’s Archive Server, Shipment Confirmation Reconciliation Manager facilitates the reception of piece-meal carrier delivery data and, when all delivery data has been received, performs a reconciliation process to match carrier delivery data with pre-delivery manifest data. Resultant reports can be used to support carrier invoice reconciliation.

SDS ZBOX SERVER

ScanData’s Zbox Server is one of its most innovative tools which has the potential to increase an organization’s shipping efficiency in ways not yet seen before. Zbox Server’s importance lies in arming a traffic department with not only data — but with detailed analysis. Zbox Server accepts batch-based data feeds from a system’s host and performs a detailed analysis of the “best route possible” for all cartons, taking into consideration drop ship points, carton volumes, drop ship minimums, and “best–density” per drop. Zbox Server goes beyond basic, or even enhanced “best method” by providing transportation departments with detailed transportation plans per batch. Zbox Server’s plans can be fed back to a host system or provided to transportation personnel in a report format.

In conjunction with ScanData’s Archive Server, using Zbox Server’s administration tools, traffic administrators can also run “what if” simulations to support potential carrier contract negotiations/renegotiations.

SDS RATE SERVER

SDS Rate Server is a process that sits on ScanData’s Communication Server and works in conjunction with one of the below communication services to allow host systems to query the ScanData system - transactionally or in batch - to retrieve carton rating and label data or determine best method rating.
